Gull Point Lighthouse

Wild late-summer weather had rattled Gull Point Lighthouse for three days, and the ferry stayed safely in Gullhaven. Mr. Lovell, the relief keeper, had come out to mind the light for two weeks, armed with crossword books and a tin of shortbread. When the wind finally dropped on Sunday morning, Mr. Lovell was found dead. Biscuit sniffed the salty air and whined. Who else weathered the storm out there?

The victim: Mr. Lovell, the relief keeper.
