Larkspur Glasshouses

Every July, the rare moon cactus at Larkspur Glasshouses opens its silver flower for a single night, and the whole town lines up with flashlights to see it. Mr. Newbolt, the night gardener, had nursed the plant for a decade and planned to keep watch until dawn. The flower opened right on schedule. Mr. Newbolt was found dead before it faded. Ada Quill adjusted her scarf. Who slipped away in the dark?

The victim: Mr. Newbolt, the night gardener.
