After a storm toppled part of its old wall, Ferncombe Castle invited the town to tea and a tour of the repairs. Dr. Tilbury, a treasure hunter, was sure the fallen stones hid a hoard of gold coins and talked of nothing else. Ada Quill had heard the tale twice, and so had Biscuit. Dr. Tilbury was found dead, with the candlestick lying nearby. Whoever had the candlestick did it.
