Hush Money, Swing Music

Case 39 · Hard

Swing music filled the Winter Gardens for the Starlight Dance, and the floor was a whirl of sequins. Mr. Rookwood, a blackmailer, had bought a ticket but had no interest in dancing. Ada Quill knew he collected secrets the way other men collect stamps, and Gullhaven had plenty to spare. Mr. Rookwood was found dead, with the trumpet lying nearby. Whoever had the trumpet did it.
