Curtain Up on the Pier

Case 10 · Easy

Opening night at the Grand Pier Theatre meant velvet seats, salty air and a brand-new musical about a singing lighthouse. Mrs. Varley, the show's backer, had paid for every last sequin and fully expected a standing ovation in return. Biscuit disapproved of the violins on principle. Mrs. Varley was found dead, with the mask lying nearby. Whoever had the mask did it.
